|The Shakespeare Festival is a daylong event held in downtown Denver where participating students are able to perform sonnets, scenes, music and dance from the works of Shakespeare. It begins with a spectacular parade of all the performers as they proceed to their venues and continues with performances throughout the day on multiple stages. The Traylor Academy Boosters (TABs) will provide transportation to and from the festival for participating students.|
Teams at Traylor are committed to rehearsing one day a week before or after school, and performing at the Traylor Good Citizenship Awards assembly and the DPS festival. There is little or no cost for students to participate.
To be a part of this festival, please fill out the attached form in its entirety and return it to the school office by Friday, January 23, 2015. Students must be able to commit to missing no more than two rehearsals and be present for all performances. Rehearsals are held at Traylor either before or after school. Transportation to and from school rehearsals is the responsibility of the family.
I will do my best to match as many students as possible with a team and coach. The number of students accepted is completely dependent upon the number of coaches and roles available. Parents, this is a really fun activity to involve yourself. Once you participate, you’re hooked for the duration – ask anyone who coaches! If you are interested in volunteering, please read this form and fill out the volunteer form on the attached webpage.
Additionally, selecting “submit” on this online form acts as acknowledgement and permission for your student to participate in the DPS Shakespeare Festival. It also acknowledges and grants permission to the Traylor Academy Players’ organizers/volunteers to instruct these students for rehearsals, provided they complete a DPS Volunteer Services Application and Background Check.
For more information on DPS volunteers please visit the website at http://cpc.dpsk12.org .Students participating in the Festival may have their images and names displayed on the DPS website http://shakespeare.dpsk12.org and/or the district/Traylor Shakespeare Players facebook pages located on the web athttp://www.facebook.com/ShakespeareDPS?ref=hl and/or http://www.facebook.com/pages/Traylor-Shakespeare-Players/322045834478276?ref=hl any parents that refuse to have their student’s images, names or performances captured on these websites may not be allowed to participate.
